While we have been missing our dear Chef Al for the past few months at the school, he has been spending his time doing incredible work with a new non-profit (Community Kitchen on the Lower East Side) that provides a pay-what-you-can opportunity for our low-income community members to enjoy a 9-course restaurant meal by Chef Mavis-Jay Sanders.

Available for $15/$45/$125 based on your budget, all paid ahead of your meal to remove all stigma for choosing what $ level is possible. Please help spread the word to those who would enjoy this experience and make a reservation to keep it going!...only a few weeks left (although possibly will be reintroduced in January if funding allows). Bravo Al!

If I listen to the chatter, I am failing as a business woman to not take advantage of social media to promote my cooking school. But when I open up the app, it’s full of stories of misogyny and xenophobia, so I’d rather call a friend or eat my new favorite treat, this salty chocolate sesame Nutella-sub (eaten on pear, apple and banana this morning for breakfast).
