Sometimes the best person to look up to is someone who remembers what it was like to be where you are. 💚

Through our Mentorship Program in KidWorks, our High School students mentor Lower School students, sharing their time, interests, and encouragement while building meaningful connections across divisions.

For our younger students, it’s a big kid in their corner. For our High Schoolers, it’s a chance to discover just how much they have to give. 🤝

As part of our study of the events of 9/11, our High School History classes went to the 9/11 Memorial. The days that follow will be devoted to a mini research project that is intended to build historical understanding and explore the implication, and develop basic research skills.

Students will research one person connected to 9/11 and one historical event either leading up or a consequence of the attacks. Students will use multiple reliable sources to gather information, paraphrase key ideas, and to practice (or learn) proper MLA format.

Following the research, students will work together to write two short newspaper-style articles with photographs and captions. The goal is for each class to have a newspaper and for each student to present their findings while they reflect on the importance of remembering and understanding September 11th.

Twenty-five years later, we remember those who were lost, honor the stories that remain, and help a new generation understand the history of the community they now call their school home. 🇺🇸

Up, down, move, adjust, work together. There’s a lot happening in what looks like a simple moment of fun. Built-in movement and occupational therapy support regulation, coordination, body awareness, and motor skills, while activities like this give students a chance to practice communication and teamwork in real time.

At Lang, support is woven into the school day, because learning happens with the whole kid. 💚 😊

Our advisors are getting creative with their advisory groups this year and we are VERY here for it. 🚇💚

Meet the R Train Advisory, complete with their own custom logo, personalized subway stops, and of course, a Langster along for the ride.

Because advisory at Lang is more than a name on a schedule. It’s a little team within our bigger community, with its own personality, inside jokes, traditions, and sense of belonging.
