This week, lower school students and staff celebrated mental health awareness week with a series of events and community building activities. Teachers shared informative videos about strengthening your mental health during morning meetings and students took part in classroom discussions around mental health advocacy & awareness. The week ended with a popsicle party after recess today! It is so important to start these conversations with our young students so they can build a strong foundation of resiliency as they grow! 🌱

Journey to the West essay contest winner with the Monkey King crown to prove it 🐒👑✍️

Rockaway’s Science Fair this week was PBL in action. Curiosity led the way, ideas got messy, and our Langsters turned big questions into real discovery. Safe to say, science looked pretty magical. 🧫🧪

Yesterday’s birthday pencils hit different knowing it was National Pencil Day! 🎈 ✏️

Huge shout out to Red from .sarcastic.productions for taking time to meet with our students over Zoom and talk all things Journey to the West.

Our kids love the work you do, so getting to ask questions and hear you talk about storytelling, mythology, and the personal experience behind your videos was such a cool moment for them. You were so thoughtful and generous with your time and our students were completely locked in the whole time.

It meant a lot to our community and is definitely one of those experiences our students will remember for a long time. Thank you for sharing your passion with them. ♥️

They have a true gift for making every student feel comfortable, seen, and totally themselves in front of the camera. No small feat when you’re photographing a building full of big personalities and brilliant minds.

Pi Day at Lang last week and the building was full of pies. Families brought pies. Students made pies. We ate pies. A lot of pies.

Somewhere in between we celebrated π, which felt very on brand. 🥧
