CERTIFICATE PROGRAM – 2 YEARS: ACTING
The world-renowned conservatory program is a two-year full-time course empowering aspiring acting professionals with technical, creative, personal rigor, and a lifelong community. The acting conservatory curriculum includes disciplined instruction in script analysis, truthful moment-to-moment work, and the integration of these competencies in the performance of material.
Designed for those seeking acting classes in New York City that provide a direct pathway to the professional world, our acting conservatory program offers unparalleled training and teaches actors how to build a successful career in theater, film, and television in the heart of New York. The training produces skilled, brave actors intent on truthful storytelling and generous, collaborative ensemble members adept at producing their own work.
THE EVENING CONSERVATORY
Designed for the working actor, the Evening Conservatory distills the physical, emotional, and tactical tools of acting into a concentrated three-semester program. Students will push beyond their creative comfort zones to take their talents to new heights.
SUMMER INTENSIVE
An ambitious six-week course, the Summer Intensive fully immerses students in Atlantic’s signature acting technique and collaborative approach to truthful storytelling. As part of our summer acting programs in NYC, students gain rigorous training full time Monday through Friday, with Guest Classes offered on half-day Saturdays. Students work with dramatic texts and are instructed in a disciplined approach to script analysis and working moment-to-moment. These skills are brought together in a classroom performance of the material. The program introduces the technique through three core courses: Script Analysis, Moment Lab, and Performance Technique. Further training in classes complementary to scene study include Voice, Speech, Movement, and Improvisation.
SPRING COMPREHENSIVE
Running for six weeks, the Spring Comprehensive is a rigorous program that challenges students to embody Atlantic’s Acting Technique, Practical Aesthetics – as outlined in A Practical Handbook for the Actor. Students will be instructed in a disciplined approach in these courses: Script Analysis, Moment Lab, Performance Technique, and Voice. Each day, students will build their grounding in the truthful storytelling and collaboration that drives Atlantic.
PART-TIME & SPECIALTY CLASSES
Part-time classes offer students the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals and refine their skills in a professionally rigorous and supportive environment. Classes may include: Beginners Acting Lab, Audition Lab, Technique Lab I, II, & III, plus year-round guest classes and specialty workshops such as Chekhov & Shakespeare, Tennessee Williams, Physical Theater, Audio Books Training, and more.
SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL AID
Atlantic Acting School offers a limited number of tuition scholarships for select incoming students. When applying, students will be assessed for scholarship eligibility based upon their merit, overall promise, and financial need.
Atlantic Acting School participates in the Federal Student Aid program through the Department of Education. Students are eligible for Federal financial aid through FAFSA for the Certificate Program – 2 years: Acting.
