One week in with Vera 🤍

I can't believe I almost didn’t do this. Like genuinely almost talked myself out of a third baby because the business was busy and the timing wasn’t perfect and I had a thousand reasons why it made more sense not to.

And then I think about the two week maternity leave I gave myself after my second daughter was born and how fast I ran back to my business and the meetings... like that was the right move.

I missed so much of that newborn phase just trying to keep up.

This time I said no to everything. Just for a little while.

And sitting here at one week in I can tell you the business is fine. It’s all fine.

The newborn phase is so so short and it's honestly the most blissful and happy time of life. And I almost missed it entirely.

So glad I didn’t this time 🤎

Good genetics don’t exist. And the science actually backs that up.

Visible muscle definition comes down to four things. Not genetics.

Four FIXABLE things

1. Not applying progressive overload. Your body won’t build muscle without the right stimulus. No stimulus, no change.

2. Insulin. When it’s elevated fat burning is switched off. You can have muscle underneath and never see it if that layer isn’t coming down.

3. Overeating. Even healthy food in too large an amount keeps your body in storage mode. It’s not about eating less. It’s about eating the right amount.

4. Wrong food combinations. Protein needs to be high enough to build and protect muscle. Carbs and fats need to work with your insulin not against it.

Strategy problem. Not a genetics problem. And strategy is completely fixable.

It's not your effort.

It's your signal.⁣ ⁣

Your body ONLY builds muscle when it has no choice.

Same weights, same reps, same routine then your body already adapted.

It's done changing from that workout.⁣ ⁣

After working with 1800+ women over the past decade I can tell you this is the #1 reason they come in frustrated that they're exercising regularly and they don't have any visible muscle definition

After 40 your body is already working harder just to keep up.
