At Queensborough Community College, we celebrate the art and science of teaching and learning, nurture the growth of the individual student in a supportive environment, and establish an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding. Queensborough offers a rich liberal arts and science curriculum as well as career and pre-professional courses. Comprising one of the most diverse populations of any college in the U.S., nearly 15,000 students pursue associate degrees or certificate programs. Another 10,000 students of all ages attend continuing education programs. The College features dual/joint degree programs in Nursing, Biotechnology, Criminal Justice and Education with its sister CUNY institutions— Hunter College, York College, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and Queens College, respectively. More than half of the faculty hold doctorates, compared with 21 percent of community college faculty nationwide. New York State has declared a State of Emergency due to the anticipated nor’easter forecast to impact our region. For the safety of our campus community, Queensborough Community College will transition to remote operations for all classes and regularly scheduled activities tomorrow, Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27, 2026.

All classes will be conducted remotely. Faculty should communicate directly with students regarding any course-specific instructions and expectations. Essential personnel should remain in communication with their supervisors and report as directed.

We will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as needed. Thank you for your flexibility, cooperation, and commitment to supporting our students and one another.
