In honor of ’s gala tonight at the , thought I would post my one photo with when I was a part of a group of students from that had the opportunity to sing in a college chorale, prepared by Dr. Robert Page, in a series of concerts with . It was an evening of the music of Marvin Hamlisch, & this freshman couldn’t believe that within a month or two of starting college, he was rehearsing with Marvin Hamlisch, with Marvin telling stories about preparing for an upcoming concert with , to then being on stage at Heinz Hall, singing “One” from “A Chorus Line,” a cast recording I had listened to on repeat throughout my high school career, with conducting his own music on stage .

Had a fantastic time accompanying my wonderful friend and colleague ’s student voice recital in Brooklyn this past Saturday. Great to collab with all of these well-prepared young singers! Congratulations to Lauren and her studio! 🥳👏🎹🎤

Had an amazing time catching up and finally seeing ’s first and second sets at , where she was recording a live jazz album! Nicole, the band, the venue, the food — all were incredible. And no cover!
As I told Nicole, I’ve been keeping up with her career and concert dates thanks to and . Nicole and I once performed together in ‘Ragtime’ back when we were at , and I think we randomly bumped into each other on a Brooklyn subway platform in the years since.
Oh, and did I mention? Nicole casually won the Grammy for Best Vocal Jazz Album from last year — and this show (plus the clips above) will show you why.
