The Athlete of the Year Award is presented to the senior student-athlete who met all of their team's practice and game commitments. The recipient must be in good academic standing, active in the King's community, and a positive representative of the College both on and off campus. Our nominees were:
Mali Binen men’s basketball
Callie Donaghue women’s soccer
Alex Kemsley women’s volleyball
Abby Roth women’s volleyball
Our 2023 Athlete of the Year was the Fall 2022 HVIAC Player of the Year and was named to the Fall 2022 HVIAC All-Conference Team and the USCAA All-Academic Team. She was on the HVIAC All-Academic Team in both 2021 and 2022. She was HVIAC Rookie of the Year in 2019 and was a valuable member of our 2019 and 2021 HVIAC Conference Champion women’s volleyball team. She served as the president of our Student-Athlete Advisory Council and worked as a faculty assistant at King’s. She works as the social media manager for Big City Volleyball and is the borough manager for the Manhattan Girls Youth Volleyball League. She recently accepted an offer to teach AP Art History at a New York City charter school. Our Athlete of the Year is women’s volleyball team captain Alex Kemsley.

The Scholar-Athlete Award is presented to the senior student-athlete who has the highest GPA and who fulfilled all of their team's practice and game commitments. Our nominees are:

Our 2023 Scholar-Athlete was a USCAA All-American on the field and a USCAA Academic All-American in the classroom during the Fall 2021 and Fall 2022 seasons. This year’s Scholar-Athlete was recognized by our HVIAC conference as both a Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week during her playing career. She was named to both the Fall 2021 and 2022 HVIAC All-Academic Team. She has worked as a Faculty Assistant at King’s and also teaches and does childcare at Central Presbyterian Church in New York City. Our 2023 Scholar-Athlete is Mae Easterbrook of our women’s soccer team.
The SAAC Kickball event for Saturday 4/22/23 from 2-4pm has had a location change. The event will be at Cadman Plaza NOT Governor's Island!
