This message just made my day! I started Blue Balloon back in 2008 dreaming of building the kind of music school I wish had existed when I was a kid, a place where music wasn’t just about learning the fundamentals, but about giving kids a chance to express themselves, experiment, tell stories, play and create something entirely their own. So when I get a message like this, it means the world. This student started guitar lessons with Blue Balloon when he was only five years old, and today, he’s sixteen, and he’s still playing and performing. Moments like these remind me why we do what we do. It’s never just about learning an instrument, it’s about helping kids build confidence, express themselves, and discover something they’ll carry with them for the rest of their lives 💙🎸🎶

Welcome to our first Student Spotlight! ✨ Every month, we’ll be highlighting one of our incredible students and celebrating their creativity, growth, and musical journey. First up is 11-year-old Isabel! 🎹🎶

Isabel is learning how to produce her own music and play piano by ear, and we couldn’t be more proud of how much she’s grown. Here’s what her mom Ashleigh Wishen had to say:

“Music has been a constant source of calm and expression as she entered middle school this year. Isabel has learned how to start using GarageBand to produce her music. She’s also learned to hear music and play it on piano by ear. She’s more confident finding harmonies in her own songs and others.”

🎵 What’s Isabel’s favorite part of her music lessons?
Writing music, being creative, working with her teacher, and building songs over time.

🎵 Have you noticed any growth outside of lessons?
Isabel’s music teacher at school has already noticed her growth carrying over into music composition class!
