We normally speak about our students, but here is some insight into the work that goes into preparing our courses.

Last week, our colleague Paul Zurawski, Curriculum Development Specialist, traveled to Dallas to attend the Coalition on Adult Basic Education (COABE) conference and find out how other adult education programs are navigating this fraught political moment. During sessions such as Using Anti-Colonial Philosophy to Improve Your Teaching, Curriculum Design, and Program, he found innovative thinking and a mutual understanding that protecting our students’ best interests is a priority that requires intention and creativity.

Educating building operators for a green future - Urban Green Council 02/13/2025

Did you know that building generate almost 35% of greenhouse gas emissions in the U.S.? In a city the size of NYC, turning to green practices presents significant opportunities—from a more sustainable future, to reduced maintenance costs (as much as 20% in existing buildings), to advancing workers’ careers.

Listen to Michaela Boren, our Manager of Green Programs, discuss our sustainability training, which is now incorporated into all our career tracks.

Our students know that the building industry is going green, and Michaela’s work ensures that they stay ahead of the curve.
