We've proudly partnered with Penn Highlands Healthcare to create the Penn Highlands Healthcare Scholars Program - a workforce initiative offering up to $65,000 in loan repayment for students who commit to joining the health system after graduation.
Healthcare workforce challenges don't start with a vacant role. They start when students are deciding whether they can afford to pursue a clinical career.
The Penn Highlands Healthcare Scholars Program changes that. By combining employer-sponsored loan repayment with a guaranteed job, students can focus on what matters most: their patients and their future career goals.
As one Scholar put it: "This program has given me the freedom to feel genuinely excited about my future in nursing without the constant worry of educational expenses."
There are several opportunities for students in the Penn Highlands Scholars Program:
β
Up to $65,000 for Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists & Speech Language Pathologists
β
Up to $40,000 for Registered Nurses, Respiratory Therapists & CT Technologists
β
Up to $30,000 for Radiologic Technologists
(All with a 3-year employment commitment upon graduation and licensure)

North Carolina's aging and growing population is placing enormous strain on an already stretched healthcare system resulting in a reported anticipated gap of over 17,000 nurses over the next decade. Addressing a shortage of this scale requires collaboration between healthcare systems, universities, and organizations committed to building the next generation of healthcare professionals and that's exactly what Scholars Network was built to do.
Our founder, Dr. Sam Maron recently joined WUNCβs Due South to talk about the Scholars Network partnership with UNC Health Wayne and how the program is helping hospitals build the next generation of nurses.

Big news out of Philadelphia!
Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System has joined Scholars Network and the The Philadelphia Inquirer covered why it matters.
Nurse turnover costs hospitals an average of $60,000 per bedside RN. The investment in recruiting and retaining talent in the first few years of someone's career can rival the entire cost of their education. That's a broken system and it's exactly what Scholars Network was built to fix.
By committing loan repayment support β while future clinicians are still in school β we help health systems build pipelines of talent who are ready to stay.
The workforce crisis in healthcare is real. We're building a real solution.
