🎨Arts education in NYC is still underfunded, and our leadership is taking a stand. Our Director of Development and Communication, Dionne, recently spoke at the Support for Arts Instruction press conference at PS 38 Roberto Clemente. And our Executive Director, Rachel, joined educators, advocates, and City Council Members at the “It Starts with the Arts” Rally and Oversight Hearing.
The facts are sobering:
👉Just 31% of 8th graders met state learning requirements for arts education last year
👉379 schools still lack a certified arts teacher
👉New funding reaches only 239 of 1,700 schools
