Earlier this month I stepped on stage as a keynote speaker at the AI Summit in Budapest, sharing why intimacy is too human to leave unexamined as technology evolves.
Eighteen months ago I said, “Within two years, AI companions will be mainstream.”
Well, we’ve got six months left and we’re on track.
The data backs it up:
72% of American teens have tried AI companions; a third of Gen Z singles say they’d marry one if it were legal.
Tech isn’t facilitating connection anymore, it’s becoming the connection.
From the stage, I introduced the idea of an Intimacy OS:
It works in three layers — think of them as three questions you can ask yourself whenever you bring emotional AI into your world
• Infrastructure (Access & Safety) – who owns the data, is there transparency and guardrails?
• Relational (Mapping Intimacy) – where AI belongs (and doesn’t) across emotional, intellectual, physical, spiritual and experiential layers
• Integration (Human-First Design) – personal rules so AI supports rather than replaces us
At our core, we’re not searching for efficiency; we’re searching for belonging.
The real question isn’t whether an AI can love us back — it’s whether we can still love each other in the presence of AI.
Thanks for having me Budapest!

has just been featured in an article from Vice on ‘ego-scrolling’.
“If you’ve ever redownloaded Tinder after promising yourself you were done, or opened Hinge just to see who’s out there without any intention of responding, you’ve probably ego-scrolled. It’s the dating app version of standing in front of the mirror asking, “Am I still hot?” and waiting for strangers to nod.” Read Katie’s wisdom at vice.com
has guested on Hot Mess Espresso (which is also a great podcast name) if you’re curious about the bio-psycho-social factors that influence intimacy, give it a listen 🎧

Having guest speak at was iconic. (PS. Should we have one guest masterclass open to all alumni, each cohort?) 🧠
It was a masterclass in market validation and medical innovation.
The kind of talk that makes you rethink what’s *really* blocking your customer market, and how far you’re willing to go to solve it.
A reminder when building in a taboo space, go listen to the people too embarrassed to raise their hand. That’s where your product is. 😉

5 YEARS OF 🎂
Sometimes the best things in life aren’t planned.
Building this school out of necessity (see:opportunity) as lockdown sent the world indoors/online, and I went from running hackathons in Sydney, Singapore and NY to planning a curriculum on post-it notes.
I had no idea where it would grow to, not to mention 500+ students later (!!!) but more importantly we have such a strong community that has bloomed. Built brick-by-brick, dinner-by-dinner, cohortby cohort.
You create the things you wish to see in the world.
