I found the spot before I even turned the corner.

I’m just certain. Every time.
And I always find one.

That wasn’t a cute detail.
That was proof.

The same mechanism that gets you a parking spot
is the one that convinces you
you’ll be abandoned before anyone’s left.

Your body decides first.
The evidence just follows to confirm it.

I know that room.
The one where I used to brace before anyone even spoke.
Now I walk in already certain, before I’ve sat down.

If you’re honest with yourself —
you already know which room you keep walking into.

Nothing outside of me changed first.
The belief moved.
Everything else followed it.

There’s a feeling in the body that arrives quietly, long before we’re ready to listen to it.

A tightening in the jaw we don’t notice until someone asks us to unclench it. A heartbeat we can’t quite locate on the inside. The air on our skin we forgot is there.

We call this becoming calm. It was never that. It was learning to sense what is actually here — not what we assume, not what we perform, not what we’ve gotten used to filtering out.

The body has been giving this feedback the entire time. Every signal we learned to override. Every ache we told ourselves to push past. It never stopped speaking.

We just stopped listening. Not because we didn’t care — because somewhere along the way, override became the only way we knew how to survive.

Save this as a reminder: the signals were never missing. You just learned to ignore them.
