This has been my most satisfying DIY garden project build to date! 😊 I’ve needed a place to wash my produce from the vegetable garden for a while now, but as we do not have a mains water connection at the new garden, so I picked up some pallets and made a trip down to B&Q to bring my idea for an off-grid gravity fed wash station to life! 💦🌱 The frame is predominantly made from reclaimed heat treated euro pallets, they’re strong, often free, and easy to work with. 🔨 I stacked them two pallets high for the sides of the structure, squared two up for the back, and added a few supports and panels to fix them together, these will then be fixed in place with stakes in the ground. 😊👍 I made a frame for the stainless steel sink and cut two pallets in half to create a splash back, that would also give the structure more stability. Then I added some hardware cloth around the sink for drainage which also makes for very sturdy work surface. 🌱 �Next, I made a simple frame for the roof and added some corrugated roofing sheets to both keep us dry while using it, but also to collect rainwater by feeding into two large water butts via a gutter. 💧🌧️ They were raised higher than the sink, so the water will gravity-feed through a hose, although I may look at adding a solar pump at a later stage. The water from the sink then simply collects in a large bucket underneath and is used to water the garden. 🪣💦🌿 Now we have a place to wash our root crops and salad leaves whilst also keeping dry! 😊👍 #palletproject #gardeningtips #vegetablegarden #gardenprojects
