We had a great time touring in East Flatbush this afternoon! Thank you to Ava, all the staff, and some wonderful chickens and cats for showing us around. The original portion of the house was built in 1652 and is the oldest structure in New York State.

Two details I loved were the remnants of Canarsie Lane in front of the house (slide 6) and the original white pine floors in the 1752 section of the house (slide 7). The grounds and farm are so beautiful, and the house itself with its subsequent additions is fascinating.

We had an awesome time touring the last night! From tiny slot machines to classic pinball games from the ‘70s, they truly have it all.

Huge thanks to our super engaged group for coming out on a Monday, and if you weren’t able to join us last night, the Museum is open each weekend. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind spot, and these quirky diy spaces are becoming harder and harder to find in the city, so go show them some love next time you’re in Red Hook.
