We are accepting applications for mentees for the 2023 cohort. Applications are due by Sunday, January 22, 2023. If you are a current mentee, you must apply again to be a part of the program in 2023.

Founded in 2020, the Black Undergraduate Mentorship Program (BUMP) in Biology aims to assist Black-identifying undergraduates at Columbia and Barnard in navigating STEM fields by providing mentees with access to tailored mentorship and resources. Learn more by clicking on the application link:

The 1st Annual BUMP Research Symposium is here! 🧠🧬🧪🔬• Come engage with 11 of our talented mentees as they present their summer research projects at the Jerome Greene Science Center on Friday Nov. 4. There will be refreshments complementing the fun discussions about science🥂. We can’t wait to see you there!

The Black Undergraduate Mentorship Program in Biology (BUMP Bio) will be holding our first event on 11/4 from 5:30-7:30 PM EST.

This kickoff event will be a Zoom career panel and networking event with members of the Black Alumni Council (BAC). This first event will be followed up with other events throughout the year as well as a mentorship program wherein Black undergraduate students will be paired with mentors from the BAC and from grad and post-grad programs in biology-related fields.
