πβ¨ This year, Ms. Taylor and Ms. Barrer ran an after-school Bookmaking Club for MS 51 students, helping them create original books for the citywide Ezra Jack Keats Bookmaking Competition.
We are incredibly proud of Madeleine A., whose book, Just A Little Place To Be Yourself, earned an award in the competition! π Madeleine was recognized at the Brooklyn Public Library, where she received her award and prize check.

πΏπ₯ Exciting news from classes 604, 605, 606 & 607!
Ms. Pleskova, Mr. Mercier, and their students have partnered with Center for Environmental Education (CEED) to hatch and raise baby Northern Bobwhite quail!
Once mature, the quail will be released on Eastern Long Island to help reintroduce this native species to its natural habitat. πͺΊπΎ
This hands-on conservation project gives students the opportunity to learn about environmental stewardship, wildlife conservation, and the importance of protecting local ecosystems. π
