Some fun facts about Labor Day weekend:

In fashion, Labor Day is (or was) considered the last day when it is acceptable to wear white or Seersucker.

New York offers the Labor Day Carnival, and fireworks over Coney Island (last one was on Sept 4th) !!!!!!!

In Washington, one popular event is the Labor Day Concert at the U.S. Capitol featuring the National Symphony Orchestra with free attendance.

Labor Day discount & allowances – back-to-school sales, is considered 2nd only to the Christmas season’s Black Friday.

Let your little Picasso or Rodin use his/her imagination to create artistic treasures reflective of the winter season. Using a variety of materials the children will be encouraged to create everything from snow to mittens.

Jan 16th- Obstacle course and parachute games 4PM

Don’t let the dreary winter days stop your child from the fun of participating in the challenge of an obstacle course. Where your child, in developing his/her gross motor skills will discovery a fun way to complete an obstacle course of tunnels, balance beams, mats , cones and puzzles.

Jan 26th -Enjoy a read aloud with stories of the winter season 4PM

Your child’s imagination will be limitless with an introduction to stories about the winter season and all the fun activities associated with it.

Story Time - Friday, November 4th at 4pm. What kid doesn’t love a good book? And here at Learning and Fun we have some great ones to choose from. We would be honored if you would join us for a book reading every Friday at 4pm. We’ll be reading one of our favorites.

Puppet show- Thursday, November 10th at 4p.m. Please join us on Thursday November 10th when the puppets in our room come to life to put on a show for you and your child (mostly your child). The show will be all about being thankful and is the perfect lead in to get your child in the Thanksgiving spirit.

Arts and Crafts - Thursday, November 17th, 4p.m. Need some arts and crafts to display at your family’s Thanksgiving dinner? Come to our Arts and Crafts open house on November 17th and we promise that your child will leave with a beautiful Turkey art piece made of paper plates and cups.

T Make your T-shirt - Thursday, December 1st, 4pm. If there is one thing we know about two year olds it’s that there is no one better at getting a stain on their shirt. Now they can finally out that skillset to good use. On Thursday December 1st Learning and Fun Daycare will be holding our first Tie-Dye-a-thon. Bring a white t-shirt from home, or you can get shirts here. We’ll provide the tie dye. Come by and make a shirt!

Dear Parents and Children,

The Learning and Fun Daycare will be utilizing our FANTASTIC classroom space for a Puppet Show at 3:30 on Friday, September 9th. We invite any children from age 16 months to 4 years to 215 E. 6th Street room 207. The Puppet Show will be a really fun time that you won’t want to miss. Children will get to watch a great show, meet kids from around the neighborhood, meet the daycare’s staff and see a vibrant and colorful room filled with toys and learning aides. We at Learning and Fun Daycare are excited to open our doors to kids from all over the neighborhood and put on a show that won’t be interrupted by commercials. The puppet show will be followed by a guided free-play period where children will have the opportunity to take advantage of our terrific toys.
