Hi everyone,

We’re so close to the finish line and we can’t wait to celebrate another semester done with you all!

We know some students are meeting up this weekend and we encourage you to attend all the school related hangs but the official GUPPA Happy Hour will happen after the end of the semester to include those who are still working through their projects due next week.

We will meet at Nowadays on Friday, June 3rd at 6pm. We are making a reservation so we don’t face the same problem we had last time of a crowded bar with no space for us. For that reason, we need to estimate who’s coming, so please RSVP (link in bio) by June 2nd.

GUPPA will be hosting its first happy hour of the spring semester this Saturday, February 19 at 6pm at Houston Hall (222 W. Houston St.)!

We're excited that cases are down and that everyone is looking forward to meeting up in person again. Hope to see you all there!

Hey everyone!

GUPPA and UPP are co-hosting a book talk with UPP Professor Lily Pollans this week to kick off the spring semester. Professor Pollans will be discussing her new book, "Resisting Garbage: The Politics of Waste Management in American Cities," on Friday, February 4 at 6pm in the Faculty Dining Room (8th floor of the West Building).

There will be a virtual option and anyone who registers will receive a link to view the event online. Non-Hunter guests will also be able to attend, but they'll need to register by February 1 so their email addresses can be sent to the CUNY visitor's center for vaccine verification to get on campus.

Hi everyone,

Due to the spike in COVID cases we decided to CANCEL the End of Semester Happy Hour next week. We are very sad we had to do it but we need to think about everyone’s safety especially ahead of the holidays!

Stay safe everyone, hopefully next year we will be able to gather in person!

LAST👏🏼NIGHT👏🏼WAS👏🏼SO👏🏼FUN!

Thank you all so much for coming to our first in person Happy Hour after a long time! We had about 30 students throughout the night and it was incredible to finally meet some folks in person, catch up with old friends and meet new students!

We are planning a bunch of activities for this year so be on the lookout for posts and emails. Can’t wait to hang out again soon!

Hello everyone,

I hope you enjoyed the first full week of fall classes!

First, I wanted to thank all of you who came to the Town Hall last Friday, asked questions, gave opinions, and advocated for our community.

PLEASE SWIPE TO READ THE FULL UPDATE.

I appreciate the department’s flexibility in doing all that is in its power to address students' concerns and implement some of their ideas to have a safer return to campus. I think the numbers are excellent and I am confident we can have a smooth and safe semester back in person.

Hi all,

We know that returning to school in person can be nerve wracking and many of us have questions that are not clear on Hunter’s reopening plan.

GUPPA received requests for a Town Hall and we decided to organize this event for students to have a chance to ask questions and hear from the department leadership. We are meeting this Friday, August 27th at 6pm on Zoom.

We will have Professor John Chin (Acting Chair), Prof. Nicholas Bloom and Prof. Jill Gross responding to questions and will also introduce the new GUPPA leadership!
