The calendar says Halloween…
…but the crayons say Christmas. 🎃🎅
This week one of my young artists proudly announced,
“I’m drawing Santa!”
And somehow we ended up with this.
A red-and-white Darth Vader.
The holly-jolliest Sith in the galaxy.
I guess it’s officially that magical time of year when pumpkins and peppermint collide!

🖤🎨 After Dark Creature Art & Drawing Club — Freaky Fridays for Young Artists!
When the lights dim and the crayons come out, our classroom transforms into a cozy creature lab — full of giggles, glowing eyes, and brave young artists inventing the silliest monsters you’ve ever seen.
Our After Dark Creature Art & Drawing Club is a Friday-night favorite for kids who love imagination with a twist of spooky fun (ages 7–12). Each week, we dream up brand-new creatures — from mischievous ghosts to gentle giants — while learning real drawing techniques along the way.
✨ It’s playful, creative, and perfectly weird — just the way art should be.

Meet the Cosmic Dog.
He’s got the swirl of a galaxy in his belly, an infrared aura rippling off his fur, and a very serious case of magic hands.
I think he’s been watching too many Doctor Strange movies—those paws are mid-jazz-hand-spell-cast, like he’s opening a portal with nothing but finger flair and cosmic confidence. And honestly? It’s working. His whole body spirals like a space-time doorway, starting at the chest and spinning outward in loops of light.
The idea came from one of my students: “Draw a dog with all the colors of the universe.” So I grabbed my markers, started with some light blue circles, and let the universe take the lead.
Now he’s here. Rippling. Swirling. Staring into your soul with whirlpool eyes and a tail that stretches into the stars.
In the Crayon Kingdom, we don’t just use crayons—we use whatever tool helps the magic show up. This week it was markers. Next week? Could be pencils. Could be pudding. (Hopefully not pudding.)
What should we draw next?
And what would you name this galaxy dog?

🎅 Uh-Oh, Dog Man! Who’s Watching Through the Window? 🍪
What happens when Dog Man, dressed as Santa, sneaks a bite of Santa’s cookies? Chief, in full elf costume, storms into the room yelling, “Hey, those are Santa’s!” Molly looks up in shock, clearly knowing better… and outside the frosty window, the big man himself—Santa Claus—is watching! And let’s just say, he’s not impressed. 😬
This hilariously festive crayon drawing came to life in one of my classes, where we started with a simple idea: Dog Man dressed as Santa Claus. But thanks to my students’ creativity, the story grew into this wild and funny holiday scene!
🎨 Want to spark your imagination like this?
In my drawing classes, every idea matters—no story is too silly, and no drawing is too wild. Together, we create fun, colorful adventures like Dog Man’s holiday mishap.
