At our camp, we study birds not only through movement and sound, but also through the ways they care for one another. Birds are deeply social beings, with strong senses of family, cooperation, play, and belonging. 🐦🌿

Through water play, nature exploration, art-making, music, and collective rituals of observation, children connect with the living world in embodied ways.

Some parents wonder how we deal with the summer heat… well, we pack swimsuits and run through the sprinklers! 💦☀️

Exploring bodies of water is a big part of our art practice — from rivers and rain to puddles, hoses, and sprinklers. Water invites movement, sensory play, curiosity, collaboration, and joy. It becomes material, playground, teacher, and inspiration all at once.

There’s something magical about slowing down enough to truly notice the tiny worlds hidden inside a city park 🌿✨

Some summers ago , some of our favorite moments came from little scavenger hunt adventures:

children working together in teams, searching for tiny nature treasures often overlooked in everyday life — seed pods, unusual leaves, feathers, textured bark, little flowers growing quietly between pathways.

We gathered beneath blooming trees, compared discoveries with friends, sketched what we found, and took moments to observe deeply together 💛

So much of camp is about this:
learning to look closely,
to wonder,
to collaborate,
and to experience nature not as something far away — but as something alive all around us, even in the middle of the city.

Some summer ago at the park we went on a little cyanotype adventure 🌿💙
We learned about indigo, sunlight, and the magic of light exposure while creating nature prints with leaves, flowers, and tiny treasures we found outdoors.

The children watched in amazement as the sun slowly transformed the paper into deep blue images ☀️✨
So much of our summers at are filled with moments like these:
singing together under the trees, making art outdoors, building with natural materials, exploring, imagining, and playing in community.
