sent to a community of "professionals" regarding the liberation of Palestine and whether or not we should voice our "politic" as a people.

thank those of you that have taken the time to respond to my recent posts, invitations around the world around us, and the connection with our praxis as somatica practitioners.

I thought the best way to reach as mxny folx regarding their multi intelligences, was to create a video with captions as well as provide a link to the full text transcript (www.xspiritmental.com/liberation) as well as resources which I intend to continue to dEvelop for a larger somatic liberation narrative.

we are liberators or oppressors. there are no in betweens.
all power to the people through the people, pa'lante siempre. maroon on.

If I Must Die
Refaat Alareer

If I must die,
you must live
to tell my story
to sell my things
to buy a piece of cloth
and some strings,
(make it white with a long tail)
so that a child, somewhere in Gaza
while looking heaven in the eye
awaiting his dad who left in a blaze –
and bid no one farewell
not even to his flesh
not even to himself –
sees the kite, my kite you made, flying up
above
and thinks for a moment an angel is there
bringing back love
If I must die
let it bring hope
let it be a tale.

Si se pou m mouri
[Haitian] Kreyòl translation of Refaat Alareer’s “If I Must Die”

Si se pou m mouri
Ou do viv
Pou bay kont sou mwen
Pou vann zafè m yo
Pou w achte oun mòso twal
Ak fisèl
(Fè l blan ak oun gwo ke)
Konsa youn timoun ninpòt ki bò nan Gaza
K ap gade syèl lan nan zye li
K ap tann papa li ki te pati nan dife –
San li pa di pesonn adye
Pa menm kò li
Pa menm tèt li –
Ap wè sa, kap mwen an ke w te fè, k ap vole anlè

Ap panse pou oun moman ke se oun zanj kila
K ap pote lanmou
Si se pou m mouri
Kite l pote lespwa
Kite li vin oun kont

If I must die.

"The last poem by late Dr. Refaat Al Areer, who was assassinated by the Israel Occupation Forces along with his sister and her children.

He was the voice of Gaza. A poet, author, translator, and advocate, he mentored and trained a generation of writers and translators in Gaza to push for Palestine’s story and narrative by its people.

Search for his work. Share his words. This is his legacy for us."

give thanks for your work and the conversation. grateful to have met you.

..
“We don’t have to turn off our spiritual selves if we’re in a crowded room and we feel like praying or doing a cleansing, cleaning ourselves, meditating, to be immersed in all your “selves” in a space is probably one of the most liberating things that one can do. It’s hard, but if you can do it and find that you can do it more, just think about how many others would be liberated and feel the need to liberate and practice that liberation. And I think that’s the trend or the fire that we wanna spark.”

A bit of wisdom from my conversation with , a NYC-based spiritual advisor, community organizer, rEvolutionary Somatica practitioner, and so much more.

We spoke about spirit’s spiritual roots as a Yaruba or Santerio priest, traveling as a freedom artist, spirit’s work as a Somatica practitioner helping people embrace their core desires, and what it means to be a spiritually-rooted person and a revolutionary.

I loved this convo so much and got to talk to spirit about an issue that comes up so much for me: how to be authentic and present in communities that only “get” certain aspects of you.

Find our convo wherever you listen to podcasts. Search for the Radical Soul podcast. And please follow this amazing maroon!
