Shop hours are going to be a little funny for the next three weeks.

September 15th through October 3rd.

Monday: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Tuesday: 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Wednesday: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Thursday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Friday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Frank Music will be closed next week for our annual summer holiday. We will be closed starting Friday 8/23, and reopening for regular business hours on Tuesday, 9/2. We look forward to seeing all of you in September.

With the first hints of nice weather finally visiting us in NYC, we know summer is just around the corner and that many of you will be heading out of town for summer festivals and concerts.

Rather than phoning frantically from far off places and enriching UPS and Fedex, why not plan ahead this year and save yourself some major Do Re Mi and last minute freakouts! Besides saving your sanity and reducing stress levels, our special sale gives you a great reason to make your wish list and visit the store. Don’t worry, July and August will provide ample opportunity for emergencies!

Come in to the store in the month of May, spend a minimum of $300, pay cash, and get a 20% discount on all regularly stocked items. Don’t need enough music or on a tight budget (who isn’t!)? Talk to your fellow students or working colleagues and pool your lists; it’s the beauty of our musical community.

I just want to alert those local folks who might be coming to the store this week that Aaron's away on vacation and I will have to close at 2 PM this coming Thursday for personal reasons. Sorry for any inconvenience, but forewarned is... uh...something.

Hi there gang... Our building got heat back on Tuesday and that, combined with the polar vortex taking a hike at the moment, is making us feel warm inside and out.

We've seen some great people this week, including visitors from Argentina, Brazil, South Africa, and even Washington Heights!

We thank you all for coming in and look forward to seeing new faces and familiar ones.....

No heat or hot water in our building. Rather than freeze, Frank Music is taking a snow day. We are closed today, Friday January 24th. We look forward to seeing you on Monday.

Heidi has procured a few dozen eggs from her neighbor upstate. She has taste tested them and declared them equal in flavor to ones she sold from her own flock. Show up soon to get a crack at them!

New from Barenreiter -- Paganini 24 Caprices plus a never before published 24 Contradanze Inglesi.

Here is what they have to say about it:
Bärenreiter’s scholarly-critical edition is based on the autograph and early prints from various European publishers. The original beaming and articulation have been maintained, thereby setting this new edition apart from the many publications of the last 200 years which incorporated changes and emendations by famous violin virtuosos. In addition to the daunting “Caprices”, this is the first time that the 24 “Contradanze Inglesi” for solo violin have been published. These simple pieces are each 16 measures in length and exploit various techniques, thus providing a wonderful addition to the solo violin repertoire.

A historical introduction in English and German discusses the genesis of the works and traces their influence on violin virtuosos. A source description and critical commentary round out this unique edition.
