We’ve been busy this Spring Break 🤍✨

Between all the fun, I’ve been making it a priority to explore new spaces with my little one—and it’s been so nice to just be present and enjoy these moments together 💛

We headed over for some Open Play fun at Jetsetter Kids Club 🚀Such a fun, engaging space for little ones to explore, imagine, and just be kids.

If you’re looking for something to do with your littles this week, definitely add it to your list—Spring Break adventures are in full swing! 🫶🏽

Our first visit to Schoolhouse Play & Cafe 💛

As a bilingual family, finding spaces where my daughter can hear her home language, connect through play, and learn naturally means everything to me. Being in an environment where Spanish is spoken by the teacher—not just taught, but lived—creates such a powerful experience 🌎✨

Watching her engage, understand, and respond in Spanish in a play-based setting reminded me how important representation and language exposure are in early childhood. These are the spaces that nurture identity, confidence, and connection.

Today’s theme was Primavera 🌸 with focus words like flor, sol, lluvia, arcoíris, pájaro y abeja… and seeing those words come to life through play, music, and interaction made the experience even more meaningful 🥹

And the teacher? So warm, so patient, so sweet 🫶🏽 You can truly feel the love in the room.

More moments like this please 💕

Today we visited Cloudbound and had the best time 🤍
I love finding play spaces designed intentionally for children 0–6 years old—and for parents too.
From coffee for grownups ☕️, to a family room, nursing room, and a quiet space that’s less stimulating… every detail felt thoughtful and supportive.
As a mom and a business owner in early childhood, it’s so special to visit other spaces with my little one where I get to simply be her mom—present, playful, and soaking it all in. Today was one of those days 🫶🏽
So grateful for spaces that truly understand children and families.

This bowl may look simple, but for us, it represents so much work, patience, and growth.
This was my toddler’s preferred and requested after-school snack—something I once wasn’t sure we’d get to say so naturally. 🥕🥒🍇
She was born with a lip tie and tongue tie and spent a year and a half in feeding therapy, learning to tolerate new textures, strengthen oral-motor skills, and bring her tongue into a functional resting position. There were moments of uncertainty, but we stayed consistent, trusted the process, and leaned on the right support.
With the incredible guidance of Ms. Krystle from LI Speech & Feeding Therapy, she has come such a long way. Today, moments like this feel like quiet victories—and they matter.
A reminder to families and educators: progress doesn’t always look big or loud. Sometimes it looks like a small bowl, a confident request, and a child feeling safe with food. And that is everything. 💛

Today we enjoyed learning about the amazing artist, Jean-Michel Basquiat. We read the story “Radiant Child” by Javaka Steptoe📖Loved that my students recalled that the previous day we called Michelle Obama a Queen and today we called Jean Basquiat an Art King. You know we’re here learning about Queens and Kings during Black History Month💁🏽‍♀️👸🏾🤴🏿After reading the story, we followed a guided YouTube video to make a dinosaur following Basquiat’s artist style🎨👩🏽‍🎨🧑🏼‍🎨👨🏾‍🎨🖌🦖

We are absolutely loving/liking/preferring our ELA Opinion Unit. Today I introduced the topic of choosing a book we like. Our focus today was to identify a book we like followed by identifying our favorite part of the book. As a model, I used 🇩🇴📖 one of my absolute favorite books by 💕I started by saying that I was Dominican and was happy to see other students raise their hand to identify as Dominican when I asked, “Who else is Dominican in our class?” I continued by identifying my favorite part of the book where the girl looks like me and her curls are like mine, making a self to text connection. I also read the words on the page and made a connection to “merengue” which is the primary type of music listened to in The Dominican Republic💃🏽🕺🏻Tomorrow we will be digging deeper to identify “why”?!

Does your child have a limited diet? Do you want to introduce new foods? This reinforcement/token system lets your child earn a preferred token for every bite taken of the new food being introduced. It can be used with a choice board or a First/Then board and individualized to fit your child’s needs. In this case the tokens are vehicles and will be individualized according to the child’s preference. Once the goal is met i.e (First)5 bites of the new food item your child earns the (Then), a lollipop. Included is an example of a 10 token system which is used during fading. Fading is part of the behavior intervention as we want our children to eventually complete the skill with as little reinforcement as possible.
