Colorism and the white beauty standard have a long history tied to colonialism and the caste system in South Asia, and they are deeply rooted in South Asian culture. When we embrace white beauty standards and let them be enforced by media, we perpetuate the stigmas associated with it, causing harmful and long-term negative effects on members of our community. We hope that this infographic provides some new information and resources to further the conversation💙
