A big round of applause for Spreading Smiles! They have just been granted $7,500 a year for a 5 year grant agreement from a US foundation.

Spreading Smiles is a non-profit volunteer organization based in New Jersey dedicated to lifting the spirits of children and adults who are hospitalized, bedridden, have physical disabilities or are facing serious illness. Spreading Smiles has gained renown for bringing smiles, hope, and encouragement to its targeted patient population and their families. What began in 2007 as a small-scale effort of about ten volunteers, has expanded into a sophisticated organization with a comprehensive range of services operating across the country with a satellite base in Los Angeles.

During a month’s long process of application, IDC Giving Group was able to successfully present Spreading Smiles, their programs and organizational information to the foundation and secure the multi-year grant. This all took place within the first year of Spreading Smile’s work with IDC. We hope to see the grant funds improve the lives of many children.
