A Circle alumni collab ✨ Find Chris Browne Valenzuela (‘20, Circle faculty) and Sancho Alcina (‘26) at this weekend!

Chris has written a short play titled ENTER, PURSUED BY A BEAR that has been selected to be part of the Hispanic Federation’s FUERZAFest 2026 🤍 Chris will also be starring in the production, directed by none other than our talented recent grad Sancho Alcina (‘26).

Playing October 3rd (7pm) and October 4th at (2pm) at A.R.T. / New York Theatres as part of the FuerzaFest Theatrical Tournament. Tickets available on the website!

The short play based on William Shakespeare’s most famous stage direction “exit, pursued by a bear” tells the love story of Antigonus and “The Bear” (really a man) and the struggle of two lovers to understand each other when one of them is a stranger in a strange land.

Everyone drop what they’re doing... our Arts Administrator Rudy Bamenga is going to BROADWAY this fall! Find Rudy in the room as Writing Associate for the new musical WANTED, opening October of this year 🤍

In addition to being the calm breeze that cools the chaos of our administrative office on a daily basis, Rudy is an accomplished playwright who has had his work developed and presented through Classical Theater of Harlem, Liberation Theatre Company, National Black Theatre, Quick Silver Theatre Company, and Untitled, a writer’s lab sponsored by the All Stars Project.

Rudy is working alongside book writer and lyricist Angelica Chéri, a descendant of the Sisters Clarke, and Richard Rodgers Award winner composer Ross Baum. The production is directed by Tony Award nominee and Obie Award winner Stevie Walker-Webb, and stars Grammy winner Ledisi as Tallulah Clarke, Grammy nominee Luke James as Elijah, Bradley Jaden as Jesse, Solea Pfeiffer and Liisi LaFontaine as Mary and Martha Clarke.

Congratulations, Rudy! We’re so, so proud!
