BMCC Nursing BMCC offers both full-time and part-time, evening and weekend nursing programs for students who wish to become Registered Nurses.

We also offer a Practical Nursing (PN) Certificate program for those seeking to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This page is for BMCC Nursing students and those who are interested in the BMCC Nursing program.

NYC City Council’s Manhattan Delegation Honors BMCC’s 60 Years of Community Commitment New York City Council Member Christopher Marte presented BMCC with an official Proclamation from the New York City Council signed by all the members of the Manhattan delegation honoring the College’s 60 years of commitment to the community during the 2026 Nursing Pinning Ceremony on May 28. Council Member Marte, who grew up on the Lower East Side and represents a district that includes BMCC, shared that he took classes at BMCC and both his mother and brother graduated from the College. The proclamation states, in part, that the Nursing Pinning Ceremony honors not only the graduates’ achievements but also BMCC’s legacy of educating and inspiring generations of healthcare professionals and civic leaders. BMCC celebrated graduating 97 students from the Registered Nursing (RN) and Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) programs, Class of Spring 2026, during a pinning ceremony held May 28th. A sense of joy and pride filled the room as family members, friends and partners cheered on the graduates. Dr. Ronnie Ursin, Chairperson, Dr. Anthony E. Munroe, BMCC President, Dr. Liesl Jones, SVP & Provost, and the Keynote speaker, Dr. Ashley Graham-Perel, all provided valuable insight and point for a successful nursing career. In addition, Vice President of Public Health Advocacy at Northwell Health, Dr. Sandra Lindsay, 1994 BMCC nursing program alumna and the first person in the United States to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, spoke at the event. She recalled her pinning ceremony and called it one of the proudest moments of her life. Congrulations, class of Spring 2026.

Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC/CUNY) celebrated 92 graduates from the Nursing program’s Class of Fall 2025 during a pinning ceremony held January 7, 2026. Sounds of joy and pride filled the room as family members, friends, and partners cheered on the graduates as they stepped in unison—dressed in crisp white uniforms—making their way to the middle of the auditorium in front of the stage, all against the backdrop of Pomp and Circumstance.
