I got the opportunity to go to the Association of Specialists in Group Work 2026 Conference this past week in Chicago. Not only did I go, but your girl was a Presenter. This conference stretched me in the best ways. I gained new resources to better support Black women navigating IPV trauma, how to combat burnout, grief and frameworks that center community, culture, and collective care rather than isolation.
I continue to weave Yoruba concepts; Àṣẹ, Orí, and Iwà Pẹ̀lẹ́, into mental health work in ways that feel grounded, practical, and culturally honest.
Looking forward to building on this knowledge and showing up even more resourced for my clients and community. Appreciation to my Baba, Chief Sekou Alaje who gave me the basis and knowledge to be able to apply these concepts to my therapuetic practice

The Parent Support Village is for NY Redidents only. It is a Group Therapy Support Group, which means it must be under state licensure and insurance. If you are a parent in NY looking for community and support this group is for you.

✨🫶🏾 Parenting is not meant to be a solo mission. That’s why I created the Parent Support Village Counseling Group — a space where we keep it real, share the highs & lows, and build a community that gets it.
👩🏾👩🏼👦🏽 You don’t have to figure it all out alone. Come laugh, vent, and learn with other parents who are walking the same road.
📅 Spots are limited (because intimacy & connection matter).
💌 DM me “VILLAGE” or click the link in bio to join the next round.
Because it really does take a village… and we’re building ours right here 💜

Moving into 2023 and the AI craze has me reflecting on the multiple versions and perspectives of myself. And, as a Mental Health Counselor in Training, a Life Coach, and an Educator, I have been caught up in the pressure that I have placed on myself. And, it's important to remember that no matter what you may be going through, you still have something to offer. Asé 🙏🏾💪🏾🫶🏾😁

Hey y'all!! It's been awhile. I know. I'm gonna be more consistent on here. Been working on a few things. Ever heard of thought disruptors? I have been working through somethings. One of those things are how to use thought disruptions during mental/physical distress like pulling yourself out of panic attacks, disregulated nervous systems, PTSD flashbacks amongst others. Thought disruptors are things you do to disrupt negative thought patterns IMMEDIATELY.... I have a few that work for me.... feeling better. What works for you? 😏🤔😌🧘🏾♀️

Vibes are important. ESPECIALLY going into a new place of work. Transitions are my specialty these days. I have made many and realized one primary connection. My intuition, my soul, my Ori will ALWAYS tell me when something is off. I just need to actually listen to make those important decisions.... guess what? I always find out later. If you want to get some more info about making smooth transitions. I'm your coach!!

“If you’re not angry, you’re either a stone, or you’re too sick to be angry. You should be angry. You must not be bitter. Bitterness is like cancer. It eats upon the host. It doesn’t do anything to the object of its displeasure. So use that anger, yes. You write it. You paint it. You dance it. You march it. You vote it. You do everything about it. You talk it. Never stop talking it.”

It's important to feel at ease. It's important to put down your stressor even for a few hours.
