At Holy Martyrs Armenian Day School, we’re incredibly proud of our students for their hard work, dedication, and teamwork in becoming chess champions!
Success in chess isn’t just about knowing the moves. It requires critical thinking, patience, strategy, perseverance, and the ability to learn from both victories and challenges. Our students demonstrated all of these qualities while supporting and encouraging one another along the way.
Chess is just one of the many enrichment opportunities we provide to help our students grow academically, socially, and personally. Watching them develop confidence, discipline, and leadership skills both in and out of the classroom is what makes our school community so special.
Congratulations to our chess champions on this outstanding achievement!

HMADS Nurseryand Kindergarten Graduation 2026! Congratulations to all our beautiful students. We can't wait to see you in September.
At Holy Martyrs Armenian Day School, we believe a love of learning starts from day one!
Our Nursery, Pre-K, and Mommy & Me programs are designed to help children become comfortable, confident, and excited about school in a warm, safe, and nurturing environment.
One of our recent Mommy & Me classes was a sweet success! Parents and children baked sugar cookies together while strengthening early math skills, exploring sensory learning, and practicing shape recognition. Most importantly, the children had so much fun learning alongside their moms and creating special memories together.
Programs like Mommy & Me help little learners build confidence, develop important foundational skills, and begin their school journey with joy and enthusiasm.
We love helping children acclimate to school and discover that learning can be fun from the very beginning! ❤️💙💛
Ever wonder what a day looks like at Holy Martyrs Armenian Day School?
Come along and experience a day through the eyes of one of our students!
The day begins with a warm welcome from our principal, setting the tone for a positive and supportive day of learning. From the moment students walk through our doors, they are known, valued, and encouraged to do their very best.
Students then dive into engaging lessons in math, science, language arts, and social studies. Our classrooms foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of learning through hands-on activities and personalized attention.
Throughout the day, students strengthen their Armenian language skills and deepen their understanding of Armenian history, culture, and traditions, helping them build a strong connection to their heritage.
Learning extends far beyond the classroom through enriching opportunities like chess, where students develop strategy and problem-solving skills, and musical theatre, where they build confidence, creativity, and teamwork. Science comes alive through exciting experiments and discovery-based learning that encourages students to ask questions and explore the world around them.
Along the way, students build lasting friendships, create meaningful memories, and become part of a close-knit community where every child is seen and supported.
At Holy Martyrs Armenian Day School, every day is filled with opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.

His Grace Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan and the Eastern Diocese were delighted to welcome the 6th grade graduating class of Holy Martyrs Armenian Day School in Oakland Gardens, NY, for a special day connecting more deeply with their Armenian faith and heritage.
Accompanied by their parish priest, Rev. Fr. Dr. Abraham Malkhasyan, the students began their visit with a tour of St. Vartan Cathedral and the Zohrab Center. There, Zohrab Center Director Dr. Jesse Arlen introduced them to treasures from the Church's archives, including historic manuscripts, newspapers, and rare artifacts.
The day continued with lunch in the Tahlij alongside Bishop Mesrop. Filled with joyful conversation, songs from the students, and meaningful fellowship, the visit concluded with a prayer led by Bishop Mesrop, who offered his blessings and prayers for the students as they prepare for the next chapter of their educational journey.
May God continue to guide and inspire these young Armenians as they grow in faith, knowledge, and love for their heritage.
