Left hand pizzicato is useful far beyond pieces that actually require it. It can be a very effective left-hand technique exercise such as Finger independence, Finger strength and activation, Clearer finger articulation and better coordination.

When it comes to shifting, it is not simply a matter of moving from note to note or finger to finger. A successful shift requires a clear understanding of the entire movement of the arm and hand.

You must establish the correct arm position and understand the distance the arm needs to travel. This includes knowing where the arm should arrive, how it moves in relation to the violin, where the hand is positioned along the instrument, where the thumb is placed, and how the finger ultimately arrives on the intended note.

In other words, shifting should be understood as a coordinated movement of the entire mechanism, not simply as the movement of an individual finger from one note to another.

A bow hold is far more than simply gripping the bow with your fingers. A proper bow hold is a carefully balanced system in which each finger serves a unique function and contributes to the technique being executed. The fingers must work together while maintaining the flexibility and responsiveness necessary to adapt to every movement of the bow.
When drawing the bow across the string, there should be an intimate connection between the hand and the bow. You should feel the bow through your fingertips, guiding and shaping every stroke.
The moment you begin to grip the bow, you lose that connection. The bow starts controlling you, rather than you controlling the bow.
