We have a Confession… Soren directed his first film with two of our ridiculously talented elementary school actors during this year’s Summer Short Film Program. As a rising sophomore, this was Soren’s second time as a writer!!

A little change of scenery… what do you think this summer’s student written feature film is about?

Back this summer from Brooklyn, we have Grant Elisa, who once again proved how talented and hardworking she is while directing her own short, Square One, during our Summer Short Film Program! Grant is a participant in both our remote and NYC classes, so we love when we get to spend three weeks of the summer with her!

ava 🤍🤍 is a superstar! After years of acting classes, this summer, it was Ava’s first time writing and directing with fellow longtime Acting Gym vets Caroline Goodall and John Brody Plaisted during our Summer Short Film program. Congrats on this huge accomplishment, Ava is one of our two first-time directors this summer, pairing professional crews with student actors and directors.

Field of Dreams? Maybe next summer. 🙃

Hold Still! John Brody Plaisted wrote and directed another fantastic short film this summer with Ava and Lincoln. In addition to the Summer Film Program and acting classes, JB has been honing his editing skills with post-production classes and is finishing up his first solo editorial assignment for The Acting Gym!

So many beautiful days on set during our feature film program. We love having our professional crew working with us on our artists and actors, to bring our student written feature film to life!
