Happy Pride Month 🏳️‍🌈

Earth Day at HSES is much more than a celebration. It’s the culmination of the intentional, justice-centered environmental education work our students and staff engage in all year long. This year, we’re proud to be partnering with 20+ organizations-including Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Bronx River Alliance, Billion Oyster Project, NYC Parks, Queens Botanical Garden, Trees New York, and many more -to immerse students in hands-on, action-oriented experiences that connect classroom learning to real-world impact.

Students engaged through environmental field trips across the city and in-school workshops designed to build agency and a sense of possibility - reinforcing our core belief that young people should leave feeling empowered to act, not overwhelmed by the scale of the challenge.

This year we also launched our first-ever HSES Thrift Shop, which connects our sustainability mission to something students are already deeply engaged with: fashion. It’s a wonderful example of how our students are leading the way in making sustainability accessible and relevant to their generation.
