Dear Guitar Brothers and Sisters -

I am Rodney Jones. I was professor of Jazz Guitar at The Juilliard School in New York City for 12 years. I was professor of Jazz Guitar at The Manhattan School of Music for more than 20 years. I have toured and performed with artists from Dizzy Gillespie and Maceo Parker, to Jimmy Smith and Kenny Burrell. I want to show you what I learned. I am turning decades into weeks in the study of jazz guitar.
It always seemed so unfair that students, who could afford (or whose parents could afford) $60,000 per year, were the only ones who got to sit with me, and learn from me. What about all of the other guitarists who are searching and want to learn? What about you?
Tune World is an online course right here on Facebook, for that guitarist who is tired of playing the same things. There seems to be such a gap between the choices, language, and vocabulary, that a professional guitarist would use, and what the long-time intermediate guitarist would use. There is the need to break through to the next level, to finally connect to the creativity within, and be free musically on the guitar.
What are the secrets to rapid and sustained musical growth? Is there a magic bullet, or formula, that works? Well, the answer is yes, and no.
It is found that those guitarists who have become masters of their instrument, all did similar things. They practiced hard, just like you. They listened a lot, just like you. They studied, just like you. Yet, something was different. They got results that stuck. They figured out how to build their playing step by step.
This secret sauce is knowing what to play, what to study, what to practice, and now get this… What order to do these things is, and how to approach learning in a way that yields measurable progress in reasonable time.
Tune World consists of 14 lessons based upon 14 tunes and 14 Zoom calls with myself, and master coaches sharing their wisdom and making a difference.

Each tune is explored in depth. What are the “best” changes? What are the “best” alternate changes? What are the things that work and sound good. What is the approach with lines, chords, rhythm, arrangements etc.? This is all information that you can learn and immediately apply to your playing to level up and sound great.
