😌Many relaxation techniques are currently described for adults and children. All of them perfectly help to calm the body and mind, tune in to sleep.

💁🏼‍♀️We invite you to try the “magic breath” soothing breathing technique described by Dr. Harvey Karp in his book “Children's Sleep: Simple Solutions for Parents” ⁣

When can you start practicing magic breathing? ⁣

At the age of 1.5-2 years, babies are able to master the technique of deep soothing breathing.

How does magic breath work? ⁣
⠀⁣
✅ First, mom and dad must master the technique:
⠀⁣
1. Fold your palms in front of your chest (as in prayer)

2. While inhaling, raise your hands up and slightly forward so that they are in front of your face at ear level, pause⁣

3. As you exhale, return your arms to chest level, pause⁣

Repeat several times. It is important that the baby sees you exercise and eventually wants to repeat what mom or dad is doing⁣

A few tricks for a successful result: ⁣

1.Organize a “magic place” for “magic breath”. Make it a special place with pillows, special pictures and toys. "Magic breath" in a special place can easily become part of the ritual before bed

2. Come up with a "helper". Choose a toy that will always breathe with you⁣

3. Pick a reward. If the baby resists, offer to do something pleasant after the "magic breath"

4. Do not insist if the child continues to resist. Don't push. Breathe yourself and continue doing the breathing technique several times a day. Let the little one see that you are exercising and invite him to join

5. Continue training. As with any skill, breathing technique takes practice. The more the child exercises, the better it will be.

And you can easily calm your baby down before visiting the doctor or in the store⁣.
⠀⁣
❓Do you use relaxation techniques for yourself and for your baby? Which ones work? Share in the comments!👇🏻

Why does the child confuse right and left?

What are the children‼️ About a third of adults confuse left and right in a stand-alone way. Tell me honestly, have you ever made a mistake with the direction over the last year?

In the case of children, consider the age of the child before you panic. Features of the development of the brain and spatial perception are associated with it. The understanding of "right" and "left" begins to form in 2–3 years. This is the period when the child begins to DIFFERENCE the parties, but cannot always name them.

Usually, by the age of 6, the process is completed, but some cannot form these concepts by the age of adults.

Why 🤔?

✅ These are abstract concepts that are difficult to support with physical sensations. For example, it is easier for a child to understand where is the top and where is the bottom, if you drop the toy, it always falls from top to bottom.

✅ All explanations go to waste when a child sees himself in a mirror or an adult explains, sitting opposite.

✅ Even when the skill is worked out to automaticity, in a state of stress, the child is more likely to make mistakes.

These are typical difficulties that can be dealt with with specific exercises.

❗But there is also a more complex reason why children (and adults) confuse right and left - disruption of the work of the angular gyrus of the parietal lobe of the brain.

Curvature supports functions such as spatial awareness, semantic word processing, reading, counting, writing. Violation of its work leads to the fact that a person cannot compare the concepts of "left" and "right" with the outside world, cannot remember what is where, it is difficult for him to process spatial information.

If there is a combination of symptoms - confusion with "right" and "left", dysgraphia, dyscalculia - there is reason to consult a specialist.

In other cases, it is enough to play special games in order to develop the skill of orientation in space.

Is this a familiar problem?
How do you decide?

Cradle cap

Cradle cap causes crusty or oily scaly patches on a baby's👶 scalp. The condition isn't painful or itchy.

But it can cause thick white or yellow scales that aren't easy to remove🤷‍♀

Cradle cap usually clears up on its own in weeks or a few months. Home care measures include washing your baby's scalp daily with a mild shampoo.

This can help you loosen and remove the scales. Don't scratch cradle cap☝️

If cradle cap persists or seems severe, your doctor👩‍⚕ may suggest a medicated shampoo, lotion or other treatment.

Influence of music on child development

Music🎵 has been shown to play a special role in the development of the baby's brain before birth.

Listening to music🎶 during pregnancy not only has a calming and invigorating effect on the pregnant woman but also has a positive effect on the baby in the womb👩‍🦰

From about the 16th to the 18th week of pregnancy, the baby hears the first sound in his life.

By the 24th week, small ears begin to develop rapidly, and it was revealed that the baby turns his head in response to voices and noise, and in the last months of pregnancy, he can recognize his mother's voice, her native language, individual words, and rhymes.

Plant the beautiful🥰 from the very beginning.

How and where is it better to store baby things⁉️

The child does not use all his belongings for long. He grows out of clothes, loses interest in toys and books📚.

The things that the child no longer needs accumulate and create a mess. You can solve the problem radically: just throw away, distribute or sell unnecessary things. But if the plans include the birth of another child or humanitarian aid to nephews, things must be saved. This can be done in many different ways.

What affects the shelf life of baby clothes👗

Clothes, toys, and books have no expiration date. In theory, they can be stored as long as you like. In practice, there are a number of difficulties.

Factors that affect safety:

1️⃣The initial state of things - the more the item is worn, the worse it will tolerate storage even in ideal conditions.

2️⃣Compatibility. Some items cannot be stored with each other (soft toys and sharp-edged parts, thin books and large toys or shoes).

3️⃣Humidity. Dampness is the main enemy of all things; it must be avoided by all available means.

4️⃣Temperature - room temperature or a little cooler is ideal for things. Some toys and books can be spoiled by cold or heat.

5️⃣Pests. It is necessary to completely exclude the access of moths.
You can create suitable conditions if you keep things in closed containers - containers, boxes, boxes, bags. The containers themselves can be left in a heated dry room - in an apartment or in a warm garage. Leaving containers on the balcony or in the country is risky, they can deteriorate.

Night feeds are very important for both babies and young mothers.

For a baby👶 less than 6 months old. it is necessary to contact the mother both day and night. Waking up at night and crying to eat is a natural need for babies.

Why is night feeds important for 👩‍🦳mom?
It is in the morning hours that the hormone prolactin is produced, which regulates the secretion of milk secretion. And if the child does not eat at night, then soon the amount of milk will decrease.
When can night feeds be removed?

Experts👩‍🔬 advise removing them after 11 months or a year when the child has almost completely switched to "adult" food.

How many months did you stop feeding your baby at night?

Baby development at 10 months

Your baby👶 is 10 months old and you have probably noticed a lot of changes in your baby's development. You are surprised to note how quickly your baby turns into a small independent person who moves, plays, and communicates with you, emotionally reacting to your words and gestures.

Every day there are changes not only in the physical but also in the psychological development of the child at 10 months. By this time, you can already feel the personality traits of your little one - quiet or sociable, calm or adventurous. And you have undoubtedly noticed that your little one already has several favorite books📚, stuffed animals, songs, and games.

Most children 10 months old explore the world around them in different ways. Your baby at this age can crawl both forward and backward, on all fours or on his bellies, move from a sitting position to a standing position, squat, hold on to a support, or sit down again, travel, holding on to furniture or your hands.

There are only a few months left before walking, now the baby trains the muscles, learns to keep balance, strengthens the legs and back. Sometimes it happens that a child is already walking for 10 months - this is also permissible, each baby👼 develops at its own pace.

Tips for Adapting to Kindergarten👇

1. Talk with your child about the kindergarten, how good and fun it is, how many toys and children you can play with.

2. Let the child take his favorite toy with him, it will support him to some extent in such a difficult period. But soft toys are not allowed.

3. Talk to your child about when you pick him up, for example, before lunch or after. It is important not to break the agreement.

4. If it is difficult for a child to enter a group full of children, he is shy, then bring him earlier.

5. Tell him that he grew up, now it is his "job" like mom and dad.

6. Come up with your own breakup ritual that will cheer him up and you.

7. Start a conversation with the teacher and connect the child, let him tell, for example, how was yesterday evening or shows off his favorite toy.

8. Well, and a lot of important point, say as often as possible that you love him, that you also miss him very much, that you understand him, how he experiences, worries and how afraid of this new and important period in his life.

With your love, care and understanding, you kind of instill confidence in the child.

As a parent, you will always have something to clean or something to do🤷‍♀

You have to take care of your child and make sure that they are safe.

Days or even weeks can pass by without you taking care of yourself. Self-care is very important as a parent.

You want to make sure that you are taking care of yourself so that you can take care of your child.

What is self-care?

▪️We always hear about self-care and how we should all do it. However, what exactly is self-care?

Self-care is “the ability of individuals, families and communities to promote health, prevent disease, maintain health, and to cope with illness and disability with or without the support of a healthcare provider” (WHO, 2019).

Why is self-care important?

▪️As a parent, you dedicate most of your time to your child that you might forget to make time for yourself and your needs. If you don’t make time for yourself, you can get overwhelmed and burnout, which can lead to more serious health concerns.

This can impact how you take care of your child. If you take care of yourself, you will be able to take care of your child and meet all responsibilities.

Ways to do self-care.

▪️Sleep: Making sure that you are getting enough sleep. If you can’t sleep your full hours, you could take a nap during the day.

▪️Well-balanced meal/exercising: Eating foods that are healthy for you can improve your health and overall mood. Also, exercising at least 30 minutes a day can help you stay healthy.

If you can’t exercise, you can try to do an active activity like walking and jogging around your house🏃‍♀

▪️Practice self-compassion: Yes, being a parent is your first priority but reminding yourself that you also matter is essential.

Being kind to yourself and positive can change the way you think and view things. Also, knowing that you are a good parent and doing your best is a form of self-care.

▪️Seeking help: If you are having a hard time with any situation, it’s okay to seek help. You can reach out to your loved ones for support.

You can also reach out to professionals to help you deal with anything you might be dealing with.

▪️Do things you enjoy: You can do anything that makes you feel good. You can journal, meditate, and listen to music🎶

Anything that makes you happy can be as simple as taking a bubble bath or lighting your favorite candle🕯️
