RIETS is pleased to announce that Rabbi Jordan Auerbach, Director of Torah Projects and Community Engagement, has taken on an additional role with the RIETS Rabbinic Placement office under the leadership of Rabbi Ronald Schwarzberg. In this capacity, Rabbi Auerbach will work closely with our talmidim, getting to know them personally and helping guide them as they explore and pursue rabbinic positions. He will also partner with shuls throughout their rabbinic search process, taking time to understand each kehilla's unique needs and offering guidance to help them find the right fit for their spiritual leadership.

We look forward to the impact Rabbi Auerbach will bring to this vital work of connecting our talmidim with the communities they are called to serve.

RIETS Semichas Chachamim Program for baalei batim is off to an incredible start in Bergenfield, NJ, under the leadership of Rav Zvi Sobolofsky!

Rabbi Aryeh Lebowitz stated: “We are so fortunate to have people in our community who value high level talmud Torah and are interested in learning many of the areas of halacha that are studied in our semicha program, on a high level. This program is not geared toward aspiring rabbis and mechanchim, but to very serious high-level professionals who are interested in a goal oriented learning program. The term ‘semichas chachamim’ was chosen to distinguish this learning program from the more rigorous four-year full time semicha program in yeshiva, while still highlighting that the learning is on a level usually reserved for aspiring rabbis.”
