DvT Practitioner Training: Play when Play feels Impossible
from $300.00
Faculty: Adam Reynolds, PhD, LCSW, MFA, RDT/BCT
Saturday November 15 & Sunday November 16, 10AM to 5PM
Playing when Play feels Impossible
DvT play requires just a few ‘simple’ components: an understanding that we will try to be safe with each other, a commitment to being in the experience together, and a sense that we can create a place ‘different’ enough from the real world so our imaginations can spark and flower.
So is it a surprise that in these rough days, where so many bodies are being harmed and hurt all around us and far away; where the other’s views and beliefs are seen as unreal^invalid; and where we cannot escape the news – that finding a way to play feels impossible? What can we do in the face of so much real risk, to play as if we were safe and felt free?
By coming together, we can create the tiny gestures of trust, stillness, breath and possibility that remind us that – however small, however odd, however sad, however joyous – we are capable of finding play and taking its benefits back to our non-playful worlds. I invite you to join me in the process in November.

DvT Practitioner Training: Play when Play feels Impossible
from $300.00
Faculty: Adam Reynolds, PhD, LCSW, MFA, RDT/BCT
Saturday November 15 & Sunday November 16, 10AM to 5PM
When there is chaos and confusion in the world – or inside ourselves – it can be a difficult to find playfulness and freedom. We feel stuck. We don’t want to move, risk, or explore. How do we navigate the impulse to hunker down and hide while also staying mindful of the real need for safety, care, and self-compassion? Whether the forces battering you are coming from without (political stress, social violence, work pressures) or within (chronic pain, the impact of trauma/mental illness, burnout), this weekend will focus on compassionate and mindful ways to find playful ways to move through or be with the complicated challenges of our personal and professional lives, and how to share some of those skills with clients and others we interact with.
This weekend class provides 12 Embodied play hours towards practitioner certification, and/or 12 continuing education hours for RDTs, LCATs, and LMSW/LCSWs.
