Try your best; there is no right or wrong. ⁠

Pause. Put down your phone. ⁠
⁠
Find a comfortable place to sit or lie down. Maybe close your eyes.⁠
⁠
Inhale for a count of FIVE. ⁠
⁠
Exhale for a count of FIVE. ⁠
⁠
REPEAT 5 times. ⁠
⁠
As you feel more present and grounded;⁠
⁠
INHALE and say to yourself, “I am grateful for…”⁠
⁠
EXHALE and think of one think you are grateful for. ⁠
⁠
Say it in your mind’s eye and allow yourself to feel the gratitude. ⁠
⁠
REPEAT 5 times.⁠
⁠
Simple example:⁠

INHALE, I am grateful for⁠

EXHALE, hot soups in winter. ⁠

Release the meditation and softly return to your physical surroundings. ⁠

Let yourself consider all the blessings that surround you, even in a time of challenge. Feel your gifts: your friends, pet, home, warm socks, eyes, ears, breathe, sunlight. Your resourcefulness, health, cooking ability, etc. ⁠

Beyond naming items, it’s about noticing the support that exists around us. ⁠
⁠
Feel free to incorporate a gratitude practice and take it a step farther but sharing your appreciation for your pet, your neighbor, your car, your food, and feel the love that emanates. ⁠

It's learning to love yourself.

When we communicate with animals, we often focus on understanding their needs and emotions.

But there's another transformative aspect to this practice - it mirrors back the love and admiration our pets have for us.

Your animal friend holds you in the highest regard. They see beyond your self-criticisms and perceived flaws.

Your animal friend believes you deserve the love and kindness you offer everyone, but yourself.

Look closer! 🐍

I was on a walk and found this little snake, so I quickly pulled out my phone to get a picture.

It had me thinking, what if I was on my phone when I walked by this little guy? I would have missed him completely.

We have so many distractions that keep us from experiencing nature and animals.

Pause, look around, and embrace nature.

Let ourself feel connected to the creatures with whom we share this earth. Snakes, insects, birds, mammals, etc...

Next time you're out for a walk, try putting your phone away. You never know what amazing little creatures you might discover!

With some new friends and followers here, I wanted to (re)introduce myself. 😊⁠

I'm Callann and my love for animals began in my early childhood.⁠
⁠
I was the kid who spent hours playing outside with my dog. I loved to sunbathe my salamander and begged my parents for a horse every Christmas. ⁠🦎 🐕‍🦺⁠🐎⁠
⁠
Animals were my best friends and I was always drawn to them. ⁠
⁠
They showed me true friendship, fun, and love. ⁠
⁠
For many years, I followed a traditional path, attending college at New York University and working as a business consultant in foreign countries.⁠
⁠
It was mentally stimulating, yet unfulfilling. ⁠
⁠
At 25 years old, I took a leap of faith to fulfill my childhood dream and bought an older Appaloosa mare to train myself. ⁠
⁠
🦄 Dolly would set me on a course to help overcome family trauma, embrace my vulnerability, build confidence and learn to be in deep relationship with other beings. ⁠
⁠
🦄 Being with animals and nature helped me reconnect with my intuition and embrace a more mindful way of life.⁠
⁠
🦄 The wisdom, love and joy I experienced from these experiences transformed my life. I now work to share these insights with others through yoga, animal communication, and Equine Assisted Coaching.⁠
