Time for a quick A&P review! 🧠 Do you know which part of the sarcomere stays the exact same length when a muscle contracts? Put your answer in the comments!

The correct answer is C! The A-band represents the entire length of the thick filament (myosin), which does not change length during contraction. The I-band and H-zone shorten, and the Z-lines move closer together as the sarcomere contracts.

Did yesterday’s grammar question trip you up? Let’s break down how to identify a dependent clause!

Let me know in the comments if you got it correct yesterday!

Let’s test your grammar skills! This is a select-all-that-apply question, so carefully evaluate each option. Put your answers in the comments!

The correct answers are A and E! A dependent clause must contain both a subject and a verb, but it cannot stand alone as a complete sentence. Options A and E are dependent clauses because they each have a subject (weather) and a verb (was and subsided), yet they do not express a complete thought. Option C is an independent clause because it can stand alone. Options B and D are phrases because they lack a subject and verb combination.

Getting ready for the ATI TEAS 7 exam? Let’s run through a math practice question together! Lidia has completed 3/8 of their prescribed physical therapy sessions. Which of the following correctly represents this amount as a decimal and a percent?

The correct answer is A! To convert 3/8 to a decimal, divide 3 by 8, which gives you 0.375. To convert the decimal to a percent, multiply by 100, giving you 37.5%. So, 3/8 = 0.375 = 37.5%.

Let’s take a quick break and test your TEAS 7 knowledge! What is the area of the rectangle in square centimeters?

The correct answer is C! First, convert the perimeter from millimeters to centimeters: 600 millimeters Ă· 10 = 60 centimeters. The formula for the perimeter of a rectangle is 2 × (length + width). Plugging in the known width of 14 cm, we get 60 = 2 × (length + 14). Dividing both sides by 2 gives 30 = length + 14. Subtracting 14 from both sides, we find the length is 16 cm. To find the area, multiply length by width: 16 × 14 = 224 square centimeters.

Studying to get into nursing school? This TEAS 7 exam question is for you. Which type of sentence is shown below? The researcher gathered the data, but she had not analyzed it yet.

The correct answer is C! This sentence contains two independent clauses—“The researcher gathered the data” and “she had not analyzed it yet”—joined by the coordinating conjunction but. Since it has two independent clauses and no dependent clause, it is a compound sentence.
