This book was written by one of the sons of the famous J. S. Bach. It only covers the music written during and before the Baroque era (so no Mozart or Beethoven or anyone later) and it’s 450 pages long!
This might be the oldest musical instrument that exists: a flute made out of mammoth bone dating back to 30,000-37,000 years old!
Our team at RMS is proud to announce our annual Summer recital!
The recitals will be held on June 18th and 25th at The DiMenna Center for Classical Music and will feature a variety of our hardworking students who have been practicing diligently since the beginning of the semester. We’re so excited and hope to see everyone there!
We’re so excited to congratulate one of our own on their screening of Orfeo, in collaboration with The Brooklyn Telemann Chamber Society.
The story of the demigod of music Orpheus who travels to the underworld to rescue his beloved wife who has recently died. Along the way, in exchange for taming the furies with his beautiful music, he makes a “deal with the devil” that he can bring Eurydice back to the mortal realm, as long as he does not look back at her.
Congratulations Liz! Head to their page for more information about the online and in person screenings!

In real life this piano weighs nearly a 1000 pounds!
Franz Schubert lived a very short life, dying at the age of 31. During his short career he wrote 1500 pieces ranging from songs to symphonies. That’s the equivalent of releasing a new music album every month for your entire life!
Did you know that every piano has a unique number and you can easily look up in what year it was made?
Going digital is fun!
Our teachers are awesome!!! Sometimes they even arrive early before teaching to play together for fun 🎻 🎹 and Sergey Malinin
RMS held our first ever small group Chamber violin class! 4 weeks, tons of music and learning, and lots of fun! We look forward to growing and expanding our small group classes this Fall.

Great news! The CDC has now said 3ft apart at schools is OK with mask wearing, which means we can open up an additional teaching studio at our location! We’ve been pretty booked lately, so with this news, and with teachers getting vaccinated, we hope to see you all in person very soon.
Always a good idea to practice between lessons! Contact us if you want to use our keyboards or acoustic pianos for rentals in between your lessons. But, still always the best idea to have an instrument at home as well! 🎹
Looks like silly Tom FORGOT that Riverside Music Studios MOVED to a nicer, larger location 5 blocks away. It's OK, Tom, we're close. We'll see you soon for your lesson! (Anyone else spot 👀 our old location in the new movie, nevertheless while he’s holding a keyboard?!)
