The Community School

The Community School The Community School believes a child’s most important work is playing. Children may attend two, three, or four days a week.

The Community School offers an affordable, high-quality preschool program in the heart of downtown Maynard, MA. The Community School has provided caring, high-quality, affordable, age-appropriate early childhood education for the children of Maynard and surrounding communities for more than forty years. The school's four-day, morning pre-school program serves children from age two years nine month

s to age five. The school also offers field trips, special enrichment programs, story hours, and family nights. The Community School is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. The school is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and a proud member of the Maynard Community Chest. Community School scholarships have been funded in part by grants from the Foundation for Metrowest.

Each week of our summer program, we've been going on virtual adventures. This week, the theme was "Let's Go Visit...a Museum or Two," and our summer friends explored art, colors, and sculpture. Today, our front gate transformed into our art gallery!

At The Community School, we believe in taking care of our community. One of the ways that we do this is by organizing a donation drive for the Maynard Food Pantry's Backpack Program for Children. The backpack program provides food assistance to children in the Maynard Public Schools. This year, we collected fruit cups, and the Teddy class packaged them to fill more than 100 backpacks!
