If we’re all reminiscing about 2016, I can say that it was a huge year for me. The biggest ever. Becoming a mom was always, always what I wanted most. I sought flexibility within my job and at Advantage, found a place where I could work from home, batch emails and calls into certain timeframes and still be able to do work I was proud of and, when my son arrived, spend most of my days with him. I traded certainty (salary, maternity leave) for flexibility and a commitment to being irreplaceable. 🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵I don’t want to go back to 2016 and live through all of it again. It was a beautiful time but I love knowing my son now, as an almost 10 year old. I love my business (and it’s mine!) now. I love our customers and the resources we’ve created and put into the world. 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙 2026 is a hard time to be a parent. It’s a hard time to be an entrepreneur. It’s a hard time to be a human. But if we look back at what we’ve built, and the perseverance and determination it took to create the good things in this life, maybe we can find it within ourselves to keep slogging through, hoping that in 10 years we’ll be able to look back and say “Yes, that was the year that changed everything. For good.” #2016
