Punahou Gold captured the 2026 HHSAA Spring Esports State Championship in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, earning the title in Hawai‘i’s officially sanctioned high school esports league!
The championship team consisted of Adrian Ma ’26, Nick Nishikawa ’26 and Connor Shigezawa ’27. Through teamwork, communication, strategic preparation and competitive excellence, Punahou Gold rose to the top of the statewide field.
High school esports provides students with opportunities to develop collaboration, leadership and STEM-related skills through organized competition.
