UH West Oʻahu student Devan Meinhart did the program cover art for the Spring 2019 Commencement ceremony that is Saturday morning.

There are a lot of resources for my students to use. Students have access to a SMARTboard, a classroom library, an individual chrome book, their desk partner, various learning posters, multiplication charts on their desk, and flexible seating options like cushions and floor tables. Some of the resources that I use are Kahoot, GoNoodle, and the Google Platform. -Mr.A Grade 5

I teach because I know that this is what I’m supposed to be doing. When I’m in the classroom, I feel like I’m home. I choose to be a teacher because I know that the students that come through my class are our future and it is our responsibility to ensure they grow to be engaged and informed citizens. They also deserve someone that believes in them even when they don’t believe in themselves. I am happiest in the classroom surrounded by students that challenge me as a teacher and as a person. -Liann, HSTA SP Chair
