Representing a variety of roles across our campus community, these new hires are joining us as teachers, a school counselor, an educational assistant, custodial and security professionals, and lifeguards. Together, they bring diverse experiences, perspectives, and talents that will help create a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for our haumāna.

The day began with a warm welcome from Associate Head of School Scott De Sa, who shared insights into Hawaiʻi Campus, our mission, and the important role every employee plays in advancing the work of Kamehameha Schools. Participants also explored the foundations of our cultural and educational philosophy through a special session led by Makaʻala Rawlins of Hoʻokahua, deepening their understanding of the values, perspectives, and ʻike that guide our work.

✨ Welcome to the ʻOhana! ✨

Today, we were excited to welcome a new group of educators during New Teacher Orientation at Kamehameha Schools Maui Campus.

The day began with a meaningful piko led by Kahu Kanani Franco, helping ground us in purpose and connection. New hires also had the opportunity to hear from campus leaders, including Poʻo Kula Dr. Scott Parker and Assistant Head of School Kelly Dukelow, who shared insights into Maui Campus, our mission, and the important role each employee plays in advancing the work of Kamehameha Schools.

Throughout the day, participants explored the foundations of our culture, values, and educational philosophy, including a special presentation on Ola ka ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi, led by Kumu Ekela Kaniaupio-Crozier, whose decades of dedication continue to leave a lasting impact on our community.
