The UH Wind Ensemble is on the Big Island! Thanks to the Hilo Intermediate School and Waiakea High School Bands for the workshops and the hospitality - so fun playing with you! Tonight, Volcanoes National Park. Tomorrow, workshop with the Hilo High School Band and our 4pm concert at Kamehameha Schools-Hawaii campus.

The UH Wind Ensemble is coming to the Big Island!

Join us on Saturday, April 1, at 4pm at the Kamehameha Schools Hawai'i campus for our Outreach Tour concert. The performance will feature light overtures, several soloists, and selections from Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition. Hope to see you there!
In addition to the Saturday April 1 concert, the UH Wind Ensemble will also provide workshops with several Hilo/Kea'au school bands. Sincere thanks to the Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts and the UH-Mānoa Student Activity Program Fee Board for their gracious support, and mahalo to Wayne Kawakami and the Kamehameha Schools Hawai'i administration for hosting!

UHWE is starting choreography (!) for Russel Peck's "Cave," which we're performing on our February 26th concert.
Who says musicians can't dance?
Rehearsals are underway for our first concert of the semester, and there will be many exciting things to come this spring, including masterclasses by clarinetist Jeremy Reynolds, trumpeter Charles Lazarus, and The K Flute Ensemble, as well as a residency with composer Alex Shapiro!
