A huge Mahalo to and Nalo Farms for welcoming our visiting students from Japan! It was an inspiring day of hands-on learning, from exploring local farming and aquaponics to planting seeds to donate fresh lettuce to the Hawaii Foodbank. We wrapped up the day with a beautiful lunch featuring fresh crops straight from the farm. Grateful for the community, the education, and the delicious harvest!

We successfully combined two program formats into one with students from Fukuoka!

“School of Hawai‘i”connects online pre-study with hands-on, ‘āina-based activities to foster a global perspective, while “Aloha Leadership Camp” offers a unique immersion where students build confidence and English skills through condo-style hotel living and leadership activities like cooking together with local mentors.

From digital prep to island life, our students are leading with Aloha! 🤙

75.68 pounds of waste cleared! 💪 In celebration of , we proudly stepped up to clean the exact streets we’ve adopted through the City & County of Honolulu’s Adopt-A-Block program. (Check out our official sign!)

Taking care of our ‘āina is our kuleana. We are so proud of our incredible community of leaders for putting the LbE philosophy into practice: to Learn by Experience and to Lead by Example. Thank you to everyone who showed up to mālama our island and prove that education goes far beyond the classroom.

Congratulations to Dylan! He was selected as the Globe Award Winner for our program on March 4th.

Despite only joining his first LbE Hawaii program last month, he has already brought so much aloha (and lei!) to our community and makes everyone feel like ohana. We couldn’t do it without you! 🌺🛶🌊

At our Project Paradise program, Leaders share their culture and identity with Japanese students through short, customized presentations. Some Leaders even bring in cultural artifacts to share!🏺

Which culture would you want to learn more about? 🌱

This month we welcomed back a high school from Hyogo, Japan that we’ve been serving since 2018!

We did our signature Project Paradise program, where our LbE Leaders got to present on their cultures. Students were able to learn about Hawaii’s people, cultural diversity, and aloha spirit.

Mahalo! 🌺
