CLT-managed rooms are designed to fulfill specific needs that are not accommodated by other UHM facilities. The spaces that the CLT occupies in Moore Hall are specifically designed with the needs of a language learning facility. The CLT also has specialized equipment to allow for in-person/remote formats in our spaces.

This week’s professional learning session featured Dr. Richard Medina, Associate Faculty Specialist in Human-Computer Interaction in CLT, who spoke about harvesting data from YouTube video comments for language research and teaching.
The session introduced how to obtain an API to use the data properly, how to use Communalytic to download and analyze data, and how AI can facilitate compiling a small corpus for research purposes.
