🔧🚀 Summer Program Session 1 is off to a great start!

This week in Inventors Workshop, our young creators put their ideas to the test—designing and launching parachutes, exploring simple machines, solving challenges, and discovering how things work.

And of course, it wasn’t all engineering. There was plenty of outdoor play, time with friends, creative projects, and lots of summer fun in between.

Here’s a look at what our inventors have been up to during Week 1! ☀️💡

📚🐾 Earlier this month, our 6th graders led a special book sale in support of their PreK Book Buddies — and together they raised more than $400 for the Hawaiian Humane Society! 💙

Knowing how much their little buddies love animals, the big kids took the lead on planning and running the sale from start to finish — collecting books, setting up shop, helping customers, and making it all happen.

Such a fun and meaningful example of leadership, kindness, and older students showing up for the younger ones in true HNS fashion. 🦅✨

As we wrap up an incredible school year, we’re also wrapping up one unforgettable Giving Week at HNS. 💙

And what a week it was…

✅ 100% participation from current HNS families
✅ 100% participation from our Board of Trustees
✅ 100% participation from faculty & staff
🎓 50+ alumni and alumni families helped unlock the full $7,500 Alumni Giving Challenge
💛 30+ kūpuna and extended ʻohana families helped unlock the full $20,000 Kūpuna Giving Challenge
🌟 Nearly $90,000 raised for the HNS Fund!

Throughout the week, students explored philanthropy through classroom conversations, activities, and stories about giving back. And in one of the sweetest surprises of the week, a record number of student donations came in alongside family gifts. From carefully counted coins to $10 donations from our youngest Hawks, students wanted to be part of the giving too.

Small school. Big heart. Bold impact.

Last Monday’s Mahalo Breakfast was a small way to celebrate the big love our parent community brings to HNS all year long. ☕🥐

Thank you scone much to our PTO President, Holly, her leadership team, and to every parent volunteer and supporter who helps make our school community so special for our keiki and teachers alike! 🌈

🎉 We did it, Hawks! Thanks to an incredible outpouring of alumni and alumni family support, we unlocked the full Alumni Challenge with more than 40 alumni gifts during Giving Week at HNS! 🙌💙

Together, our alumni community helped secure a total of $7,500 in challenge gifts in support of our students, teachers, and campus. What an amazing show of The HNS Way in action.

And the momentum continues… we’re now so close to unlocking our 💙Kūpuna Giving Challenge💙 before the end of Giving Day tomorrow!

A generous HNS kūpuna family pledged $20,000 to inspire grandparents, aunties, uncles, and extended ʻohana to support the HNS Fund — and we’re so close to the participation goal needed to unlock it!

If HNS has touched your family across generations, there’s still time to be part of this special effort. Every gift, at every level, makes a difference and helps carry The HNS Way forward.
