WE DID IT! 🎉 WE MET OUR GOAL! 💚💚💚

Thanks to our amazing community, we officially raised over $6,100 for our EQS Camp Challenge! Every dollar raised keeps these field experiences 100% cost-free for our families.

Here are the highlights of Day 2 of EQS Camp:

🌊 EQS Ocean Conservation participated in conservation and restoration with Malama Maunalua at Kuliʻouʻou Beach Park.

⚡ EQS Energy got inspired by Punahou School green net-zero efforts and then conducted an energy audit at SEEQS.

🌿 EQS Learning Lāʻau dove into natural resource management and environmental education with the Malama Learning Center.

🍫 EQS ʻOno Origins visited a historic plantation and then the Wahiawa Value-Added Product Center to connect the history and present of local food production.

♻️ EQS Zero Waste explored different parts of the waste and consumer cycle with visits to H-Power, Waimanalo Gulch Sanitary Landfill, and Goodwill.

🏙️EQS City Evolution surveyed the changes of our own neighborhood, starting at Iolani Palace and making their way through Kaka‘ako.

Round 2 is right around the corner this January! ✨ Our annual field budget is $12,000+, so it’s not too late to help us keep the momentum going for Semester 2. Day 1 of EQS Camp was a success! ✅

Today, our entire student body stepped off campus and into the field to begin unpacking this semester’s Essential Questions:

🌊 EQS Ocean Conservation tested water quality and analyzed marine debris at Waimānalo Beach Park.

⚡ EQS Energy worked in the wetland loʻi ecosystem at Nā Mea Kūpono in Waialua.

🌿 EQS Learning Lāʻau explored native plants and visual arts at The Capitol Modern and KCC Learning Center and gardens.

🍫 EQS ʻOno Origins learned the ins and outs of sustainable farming at 21 Degrees Estate Cacao Farm.

♻️ EQS Zero Waste visited Magoon Research Station and Kaʻōhao Public Charter School to dive into school-wide composting.

🏙️ City Evolution embarked on an east-side island road trip exploring how our communities and landscapes change over time.

This week at SEEQS, our Student Clubs officially kicked off! 🥳

At SEEQS, we believe student voice and passion drive the best learning. Any student can start any club about something they love. All they need is a pitch, a plan, and a staff supervisor! To bring their ideas to life, student leaders submit an application outlining their club's goals, share what it means to be a responsible member, and host a table at our bi-annual Club Fair.

This year’s student-led lineup is full of creativity, community, and FUN:

Last night we hosted our annual Night in the Life of a SEEQer event, where parents stepped directly into their student’s shoes! We started the evening in Advisory, passing the Community Ball and experiencing firsthand how our students ground themselves in community to start and end their weeks. 🧶

From there, families learned about each of their SEEQer’s classes and ended the night in EQS, diving into our sustainability project-based curriculum. Teachers also got to share details of their EQS Camp, from loʻi restoration to local farms and ocean studies!

With EQS Camp coming up in just ONE WEEK, the urgency of community support needed to ensure deep real-world learning was at the forefront. You can help fund field trips, bus rentals, and expert visits by donating to our $6,000 EQS Camp Challenge (or by using code #78837 at Foodland Give Aloha!)

The 2026–2027 school year is in full swing, which means EQS is officially up and running, and EQS Camp is right around the corner!

"SEEQS" is an acronym for "the School for Examining Essential Questions of Sustainability," so EQS is at the heart of everything we do. For two full days near the start of each semester, our entire school steps off campus for EQS Camp: an immersive experience filled with field studies, hands-on site visits, and direct connection with community experts. It’s the spark that launches our students' real-world inquiry and end-of-semester exhibitions!
To keep our school fees low and ensure these experiences are accessible to every family without extra out-of-pocket costs, we are launching our $6,000 EQS Camp Challenge!

Your gift directly powers real-world learning across Oʻahu. Here’s where your donation goes:

How do we prepare young people to be stewards of planet Earth and healthy, effective citizens of the world? 🌍

At SEEQS, we believe it starts by fostering a true joy of learning through collaborative, interdisciplinary investigation of questions essential to Hawaiʻi's future. 🌿

As we put the finishing touches on our school community for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year, we have a limited number of spaces available for incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.
